Kalutara is a city situated approximately 43km south of Colombo. One of the four major rivers of Sri Lanka, Kalu Ganga (River) falls into the ocean at Kalutara. The Kalutara Bodhiya, one of the most sacred Buddha Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka, is another well-known attraction in this city.
